Larger, sturdy book, black cloth spine, black boards, very bright gilt lettering on spine, dark red color inside covers and adjacent end papers, 283 pages, a three-line stamp at top of first front end paper and half-title page, a pencil note on the first front end paper. DJ glossy and colorful, an illustration of a black woman in turtle shell on front, praise on back from James Baldwin, Maya Angelou, John Updike. DJ has light wear to bottom tips, a sticker at spine bottom. Very Good, considering it is ex-library.
Sinopsis
Gayl Jones was born in Kentucky in 1949. She attended Connecticut College and Brown University; she has taught at Wellesley and the University of Michigan. Her books include Corregidora, Eva's Man, White Rat, Song for Anninho, and Liberating Voices: Oral Tradition in African American Literature .
