Facsimile photograph tipped in, 3 facsimile letters, 2 facsimile leaflets, printed tissue guards. Dark gray cloth spine, patterned floral cloth boards, printed paper spine label. Title page slightly soiled, but a fine copy. Includes the previously unpublished letters from Hearn to Tunison and an account of the controversy surrounding the three different biographies (official and unofficial) which were written about Hearn. The binding is a noted variant with floral sides printed in dark green, red, gray, and black on a cream background. [Grabhorn: 133]..

The Argonaut Book Shop was founded in 1941 in the middle of the financial district of San Francisco. The Argonaut was a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers\' Association of America and has been a member in good standing ever since. The Shop is now located just three blocks from Union Square in downtown San Francisco and is open six days a week. Parking facilities include ample street space and a parking garage close by.
