Quarter white cloth and hardcover, gold titles and decoration, gilt top. 218 pp. Part of the historical collection from one of the USA's oldest libraries, and complete with the antique hand-numbered and hand-dated bookplate. Engraving of Lowell with facsimile signature frontispiece, protective tissue. Lowell was a poet, and a highly influential man of letters in his day, teaching at Harvard and editing The Atlantic Monthly and The North American Review. This is a book of his poetry. Boards soiled and scuffed, spine rubbed and faded, corners bumped. Good condition..
