Sobre este artículo

London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington,, 1878 [i.e. 1877]. Perhaps the most remarkable of Verne's mid-period works" (SFE) First English-language edition in book form of the work better known as Off on a Comet. Though the title page is dated 1878, the book was published on November 1877, following serialization in Strahan's Boys' and Girls' Annual from January to September 1877. The French edition was also published the same year. Variant cloth colours have been noted, without priority. Octavo. Original green cloth, spine and front cover pictorially stamped in gilt and black, blind rules and publisher's device on rear cover, coated endpapers, edges gilt. Wood-engraved frontispiece, 96 wood-engraved plates, by Laplante after Paul Philippoteaux. Two contemporary ownership inscriptions on front free endpaper. Spine cocked, ends bumped, light rubbing and corner wear, bright overall, cracked inner hinges with signs of previous repair attempts, book block sound and largely clean. A very good copy.
