ORIGINAL 1878 PRINTING. First authorized American edition. Wonderfully Illustrated throughout. Text unmarked. All pages have a damp stain on bottom corner BUT DOES NOT GO INTO TEXT OR ILLUSTRATIONS. Covers (pictorial reddish brown boards and spine with gilt and black decoration/lettering) show edge wear with rubbing/scuffing and bumped corners. Stain on bottom portion of front cover. Spine edge wear. Chipping on spine top edge. Hinges cracked and binding cracked and loosening. Previous owner's sticker on end paper.
