Bainbridge was a Union Army nurse during the Civil War where she met her husband who became a Baptist minister. The couple moved to New York City where she became Superintendent of the Woman's Branch of the New York Mission Society at the turn of the 20th century. Here she shares her experiences working as a missionary in the downtown community. 8 b&w photo plates and frontispiece. (7-5/8"x5")
