Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott Company, 1953. All five volumes are stated first editions. Volume I printed in 1953 up thru Volume V printed 1972. Winner of the National Book award. The books themselves are fine. Scarce in any condition complete and particularly in this condition. Jacket has tiny chip on Volume II at head of spine only problem. Textblock all tight and square, clean with no markings. Volume V has small soiling to front panel which looks like a ghost of a short piece of tape. All jackets have price intact. Boards are orangle brown with blind stamp, silver, black and gold stamping. Scarce. In mylar. . First American Edition. Cloth. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
