Sobre este artículo

London: I. Girtin, June 18, 1796. First Edition. Wraps. Cloth spine. Custom quarter morocco clamshell box.. Near Fine or Fine. Utterly charming tale told in seven pictures of a little girl mothering a doll. Oblong 8vo. 21 by 28.5 cm. Takes us through the day the doll is received as the princess play-acts as the mother or caregiver to the doll. Engraved title, followed by seven engraved plates. Each of the plates has a decorative surround. The title is bounded by a floral garland, and the following plates are framed with several bands, each with its own distinctive repeat. Tomkins was the Historical Engraver to Her Majesty, so stated on the title page. Original wraps with a moderate amount of staining, and a tear in the center of the rear wrap. Some light soiling of the leaves within, but these are overall quite clean and crisp. Modern clamshell box has a small amount of rubbing along the edges, but this is a worthy complement to the book and very handsome indeed.
