Sobre este artículo
London: John Murray, 1959. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. 9.5" by 6.5". Osbert Lancaster. A very smart first edition of this pictorial history of domestic architecture. First thus. Illustrated throughout with many full-page images. A revised and expanded omnibus version of Pillar to Post and Homes Sweet Homes, this engaging architectural history offers a survey of American architecture from the earliest times until the 1950s. Including recognisable architectural styles such as Gothic, Baroque, and Regency, as well as his take on more modern styles such as 'Bankers' Georgian', 'Aldwych Farcical' and 'The Wide Open Plan'. Written and illustrated by Sir Osbert Lancaster, an English cartoonist, architectural historian, stage designer and author. In the original yellow cloth binding. Externally, very smart with a minor tide mark to the rear board. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Light sunning to the spine with spotting to the internal side. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Near Fine
