The design on the front cover is heavily rubbed. Flecks of soiling on spine and edges of boards scuffed. Endpapers tanned and foxed. Early owner's pencil notation on front endpaper, but otherwise, text clean and binding tight. Stories of heroic historical figures illustrated with black and white plates by Frederick Knowles ("For the Children's Hour Series").
