Paris: G. Hardouyn libraire jure de luniversite de Paris. Full Calf. Very Good. Miniature printed Book of Hours, with painted plates, and printed on vellum. 8.5 by 5.5 cm. 119 leaves. (235 of text following title page.) 15 paintings, including title page. After title, paintings occupy about two thirds of their pages generally. Many letters with painted coloring. There are numerous editions of Hardouyn's "Heures", but all the ones we could locate are octavo, whatever the date of issue. We could find no institutionally held copies of a miniature Hardouyn such as we have here. Bound with later full brown calf. Condition: front joint repaired. Title page is later, probably late19th century repro, but it is painted. A few letter devices smudged. Scattered mostly light soiling. A few leaves slightly crinkled.
