Good+ for Age. 13.5 Cm x 19 Cm. lxxxvii+270+81(Oct.1873 pub. catalogue); ex lib. with inoffensive early blue heraldic plate of Strawberry Hill College Library to front endpaper, small oval stamp & accession number verso t.p., remnant of loan-sheet edge rear endpaper and small white spine number, also a very small 1876-dated gift inscrip. (initials onl) top outer corner of t.p., endpapers are black but inner sides heavily foxed as, far more faintly, are the facing half-title and verso p.83 of pub.cat., otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked; covers clean and generally unworn but spine ends a little rubbed and nicked. For academic purposes this is the prefered edition by virtue of the 70pp. Preface to the Second Edition. A very acceptable working/reference copy.
