Beautifully clean book in clean original unclipped jacket. Unfaded green ribbed cloth boards with crisp yellow lettering on cover and spine. No bumping or fraying. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean, with map-decorated endpapers. Small previous owner name neatly penned at top edge of front free endpaper. Illustrated with awesome black and white photographs. 200 pages with index. Clean bright dust jacket is not price clipped (5.00 on front inside flap), has one v-shaped chip at base of spine, slight loss at top spine edge (approx. 1/4"). Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Exciting record of a 12,000 mile trip by U.S. Army Jeep over the Alaska Highway when it was still under construction..

Bottom of spine bumped top and bottom, some fraying at top. Endpapers decorated with maps. Rough cut edges on text block. Many black and white photographs. All pages slightly browned, probably due to paper stock. No writing, stickers or stamps anywhere. Author Inscription to 'Margery' dated 12/3/44. Dust jacket is not price clipped but does have some open tears top and bottom front and on spine. Author photo and bio on rear cover. Mylar cover. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 200 pages; Signed by Author .
