Sobre este artículo
Pippa Passes, KY: Mountain Press, Alice Lloyd College, 1965. First Edition. First Printing. Octavo (21.5cm); pictorial wrappers; [x],56pp; illus. Inscribed generically on the preliminary leaf: "In the place where there is no humanity, you be humanity." - WHC (after Robbie Hillel)." Additionally inscribed on the half-title page: "For Pete Seeger, friend of man, from William Howard Cohen, 10/15/66 at Pippa Passes, KY / To be is free / WHC." Textblock detached from wrappers, with frontispiece map of Kentucky pulled away from staples but laid in place; wrappers edgeworn, dusty, and gently sunned, with remnants of dried-out binders glue on verso; Very Good. Second collection of poems by the former professor of English and Humanities at Alice Lloyd College. Cohen (1928-2007), in addition to his outspoken personality, was known during his time at ALC to be an outspoken advocate against strip mining, often protesting by lying down in the middle of haul roads holding a Bible and the American flag. A compelling association copy contemporarily inscribed to songwriter and protest musician Pete Seeger.
