Ex-lib copy, with minimal markings - a single stamp to half title page. Solid binding. Full bound brown cloth boards, with somewhat faded gilt lettering to spine. Very worn with fraying and fabric loss at head and heel of spine. Rear joint (ie, exterior portion where the rear board meets the spine) is worn, with board showing through. Corners bumoed and worn; edges dusty. Some pencilled notes to one rear blank pages. John Hazlehurst Boneval Latrobe chronicles his six months of travel in Europe in 1868, with "the hope that it may of service to some one who may find himself ... in Europe for the first time without chart or compass.
