First edition of this miniature story of Potamus, a hippo on the Nile who runs into trouble when he is accidentally deflated. This little publication is in a similar style to Treherne's "Stump" series of books, though it is square rather than oblong like the Stumps. 2.75'' x 3''. Original blue publisher's cloth binding with pictorial elements. Head edge stained red. Illustrated in color throughout. 83 pages, printed on board one side only. Ink gift inscription to first blank, dated "Xmas 1905." Mild scuffing and edgewear to boards. Occasional soil to margins. Sound and bright.
