Paris: Chez Barba, Libraire, 1807. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. 12mos. ix, [14]-251, [5]; viii, 230; xii, 211, [1]; 239; 364 pages. Hardcovers bound in quarter leather and marbled paper-covered boards. The bindings are quite worn, scuffed and bumped, but the bindings are sound. An ex-library set with full markings. Removed shelf labels from the spines and paper label on the front covers. Ink stamps on the title pages (one from Austria and one in Russian). The title labels on the spines are worn with two showing heavy chipping and pest damage. In Volume IV, there are burn marks at the tops of pages 229-239 with some loss of text (heavy loss on the last fe3w pages. The text blocks are quite sound. A scarce early work on Napoleon. No other copies online; no auction records found.

Since 1996 we have been serving the Triad community as well as customers from around the world. We have around 15-20,000 volumes in our shop. We specialize in North Carolina, Virginia, Civil War, Old Leather, Christianity, Eastern and Western Philosophies, and the simply unusual. We very likely have the oldest books in Greensboro; we keep a nice selection of antiquarian volumes and scholarly books.
