Fine. 550 exemplaires numérotés : numéro 35 - 50 exemplaires sur Vélin de cuve des Papeteries d'Arches, à la forme, avec le suite des vignettes à part, une aquarelle inédite de l'illustrateur et un des originaux de l'ouvrage. Très bel exemplaire établi par le fameux relieur Art-Déco René Kieffer (1876-1963). Copy #35. In-4, Kieffer binding in full morocco, front and rear boards with matching design in relief showing vignette of female bathers within an oval border, the surrounding background with slender monkeys and a cat-like creature with a menacing countenance. The spine panel has three further vignettes: two with single monkeys, and a third central design with a dancing female figure. pp. 135-[6]pp; unpaginated suite of illustrations. Book is fine; the binder's marbled slipcase shows considerable rubbing, but is structurally sound and very good. Note Front endpaper with ticket of Librairie Deom, Montreal, who were the original distributors of these remarkable books in Canada.
