[Edenton, N.C.: Chowan Herald, n.d., circa 1959-1964. Printer from rear wrap.] [52] pages, including sixteen pages of local advertisements at the end. Double-page street map of Edenton at center with numbered key to historic sites. Illustrated with photographs in the text. Original printed green wraps. [20.2 cm.] Printed price on front wrap: "$1.00." Map, "How to Get to Edenton," on verso of front wrap. Very good. Light foxing to inside of wraps and to first and last pages, else a nice copy. Edition unknown. The first was issued in 1953. OCLC also records copies from 1959 and 1962, but it is unclear if these dates are stated or infered. The estimated date of this copy based on the mention, in article #27, of the reconsecration of St. Paul's Church (1959), and the note on the map stating that mileage "subject to change upon completion of Chesapeake Bay Tunnel" (which was finished in 1964). Contains descriptions of 43 historical sites in this North Carolina town on the Albemarle Sound, including homes, inns, public buildings, and churches.
