The author was a colliery viewer and mining engineer. Mainly discussing practices in the north of England and in Scotland, with much economic information. Good clean example of this interesting overview, neatly rebound in good quality cloth and gilt lettered to spine. Text block very good with two small library stamps - one on the top of the title page and one on the following preface leaf. No other oibrary markings. Ix + 248 pages, indexed. Folding section diagram of the Belgian coal fields at page 156 ( small closed tear to one edge ). Size: 8vo. Quantity Available: 1.
