London: Longman, Orme and Co., 1839 The engraved frontis title plate states 'By Command of His late Majesty William the IVth and under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen'. Whilst the intro is dated 1836 the date of publication is a little later. 152pp with four lithographic plates, three hand coloured and depicting uniforms, the colours and the landing of British and Dutch troops at Gibraltar on the 21st July 1704. Publishers red cloth, blind stamped and with gilt titling to upper board and spine. Three die stamped George 4th Regimental Insignia clipped from stationery pasted to front pastedown together with a hand coloured uniform depiction. Undated but early inscription to front end paper - To Captain E Burdett Pooley from his brother officer J.G.Leonard Chaplain. End papers lightly aged. Engraved title moderately foxed.
