Sobre este artículo
London: Longman, Orme, and Co, 1839. Hardcover. Poor. Hardcover in original white moire cloth boards with remnants of gilt title on front. No dust jacket. First edition. Boards are soiled and worn at edges. Spine is broken, though signatures are securely held. First free endpage has a tear. Pages are mottled. Preliminary pages include the engraved title-page, the general title page, and the preface to the series from 1836 ("General Orders"), a preface, and an introduction. The author pioneered the idea of the regimental history. This one seems not to be available in an online (downloadable) version. From the estate of Donald G. Skinner, Canadian military collector extraordinaire. Laid in is a magazine cutout of a painting by William Heath, "Marching from the Water Gate, Kilkenny, with Invalids." Small 8vo. 104 pp. including three beautiful color plates.
