Cloth discoloured. Edges and corners worn. Chip from spine affecting lettering. Ex library with ink stamps on bottom of title page, top edge and dedication. New endpapers. Pencil marks throughout contents pages. Paper browning. Complete and legible but a bit eccentric looking.

A volume on nautical commerce by the author of such titles as History of the American Privateer and Coggeshall's Voyages. Coggeshall was one of the most renowned nautical historians of the 19th century, covering all elements of ocean travel and commerce from ancient times to modern.
