Six raised bands to spine, gilt lettering on leather patches to compartments 2 and 3. 14ins x 9.25ins. Volume one: [x], xxviii, [iv], 195pp,(Colchester) 28pp appendix, 4pp addenda, 519pp, list of plates. Volume two: [vi], 646pp. There are 9 maps and 24 plates. All plates present. The folding plate of Wanstead house is torn but without loss. Some browning and staining to pages. Original spines have been relaid. Boards very scuffed and worn. Corners badly worn. A Good only, complete set.
