London: James Pattie, Brydges Street, 1839 Book. Good. Half leather. xvi, 48, 65-720 pages + portrait frontispiece and other illustrations in the text. Not the best printed book. Pages at the start are browned. Apparently issued in parts originally which may well explain the jump in page numbers, but is complete when compared the a version online scanned from the Bodleian Library. Newspaper cutting tipped in to the front end papers. A note from a previous owner in 1937 tipped in to the front free end paper. Tears to the inner margins of the pages. Stains, particularly to pages 172/3. A few ink corrections, notes and lines. In old half leather binding, but the spine is torn and damaged at the head..
