When first published, in 1940 (this copy is a Bonanza reprint) I am sure this was the definitive history of the Colt Revolver. It still has a place on your shelf if you are interested in Colt history! From the rear flap of the dust jacket: "The book is in four parts. The first is a history of all Colt models ... the second contains a complete listing of all Colt revolvers prior to the modern types... the third is a collection of letters (etc.)... the fourth contains a number of facsimiles of patents..." 711 pages.
