THREE VOLUMES, numerous black and white plates throughout, black and white in-text illustrations in volume 1, marbled endpapers and edges, 1105, 941, 994 pp, indices, 10 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, embossed decorative cloth-covered boards (hardbound). Light wear to heads of all spines, few marks to front cover of second volume, couple of small marks to covers of other volumes, previous owner's name on front pastedown of each volume, the top edge of one volume has a light stain not penetrating the text block,interiors clean and tight. Very good condition. The first volume deals with the history of the region; volumes II and III contain biographical entries for prominent people. .
