Sobre este artículo
[Austin]: Nortex Press, 1993. First edition. 8vo, 180pp. Illustrated with photographs. Inscribed by Prince to the former owner on the ffep. Blue cloth boards, spine lettered in gilt in illustrated jacket. Nearly fine.
Signed copy of Dr. Robert L. Prince's (1930-2019) history of the contributions of African Americans to the history of Dallas. Prince spent 30 years researching the work which he published as an antithesis to the standard histories he read as a student in the 30s and 40s, and which did not include any information on the role of the African slave in the development of the city. Prince began his OB-GYN practice in 1964 and was a staunch advocate for women's reproductive rights, serving on the board of Planned Parenthood. He was the first African American appointed to a Dallas County Board.
