Printed paper spine label with title: Hale and Gamage on Fever. Half-title: History of an Epidemic Fever. Advertisement by Wells and Lilly on 2 unpaginated pages following text of Hale for medical books, both imported from Europe and published by Wells and Lilly, as well as "one copy of Hogden's celerated Treatise on Obstetric studies" and imported thermometers and barometers. Hale: Shaw & Shoemaker, 44218; Austin, Early American Medical Imprints, 851. Gamage: Shaw & Shoemaker, 44125; Austin, Early American Medical Imprints, 810. Bookplates and inscriptions on front endpapers indicate that this volume formerly belonged to American medical researcher George R. Minot (1885-1950), the G.L. Simmons Medical Library, the Lane Medical Library of Stanford University, and the Nathan and Rose Benison Memorial Library. Very scarce. In Very Good- Condition: loss along one side of spine label; ends of spine are slightly frayed; boards are lightly soiled; edges rubbed; minor loss of paper from boards; pages are clean and tight.
