Hardcover. Good. MISSING VOLUME 10. SET CONTAINS ONLY NINE VOLUMES. Volumes 1 through 9 of 10 volume set. All bindings are tight. Most volumes are free from notes and underlining. Volumes 6 and 8 have sparse underlining and notes. All volumes have library markings. The set is made up of two editions, the second impression by the British publisher H. F. & G. Witherby Ltd around 1942, and a reprinting by Barnes & Noble, Inc. printed in the USA around 1950. The two editions have slightly different shades of green cloth, and different volume markings. Barnes & Noble uses a number to mark volumes and Witherby uses a collection of stars (** represents volume 2, etc.). Library markings include catalong note on spine, stamp on page ends, stamps, stickers and card holder inside front cover, stamp and note on title page, catalog and purchase notes on first page of preface, and stamp on page 17.
