History of Lapel and Fishersburg (indiana)

Lapel, Indiana: Published By the Author, 1938. Octavo. 201 pages, index. pages 192-196 are advertisements of those companies' doing business in Lapel in 1938 and pages 197-201 is an alphabetical census of Lapel and Fishersburg. The author's research begins with interviews from the old residents of the area, then she went to the various cemeteries to confirm birth and death dates. The pictures of the civic and religious leaders are accompanied with pictures of the town in the day when the railroad ran through it and was a major stop. It was when the railroad first made a route to the town in the shape of a men's lapel that it received the name Lapel, Indiana. Bound in beige cloth lettered in black, spine lettering black, a couple of short lines, most likely from pencil to both upper and lower joints, previous owner's name and address stamped. A very nice, clean copy.
