A satire of academic life in the "glass and steel" universities established in the 1960s which followed the "redbricks". Howard Kirk is a lecturer of sociology and a trendy leftist who hasn't noticed that his relationship is struggling. The Kirks oppose gender roles fiercely, but practices have crept into their lives which don't live up to their usual high standards. Barbara is left with the housework and childcare tasks, while Howard writes his new books. Written by Sir Malcolm Stanley Bradbury, an English author and academic. In the original black cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also very smart with minor wear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
