Fair+ (front & back boards detached. front flyleaf to pg 14 detached & laid-in; frontis & tissue-paper guard intact. back board has last index pg & endpaper attached. leather spine edges rubbed & scratched, upper edge detached w/ binding paper exposed. boards scuffed & scratched, leather corners & edges rubbed). burgundy pebbled boards w/ leather corners & spine; gilt spine printing & decorations. book viii, 1197 pgs w/ plates & lxxxviii index. all edges gilt. Pages one and two, as well as fifteen and sixteen are missing. Pages remain fairly bright with instances of light or moderated foxing; some plates will have darker, more concentrated foxing. Many tissue-guards remain intact. Textblock remains firm. Remains a nice copy for the researcher, though, a candidate for rebinding.
