Original buff cloth titled in black on the front covers and spine and with advertisement for "Harper's Family Library" books on the rear covers. The spines are darkened and the covers are rubbed & stained with wear to the corners. 288 pages; and 330 pages, with the publisher's catalog bound at the front of the first volume and included in the pagination. The set is illustrated with 5 copperplate portraits. A piece is out from the top corner of the front endpaper of the first volume. There is some scattered foxing throughout. Good.
First American edition.
