Sobre este artículo

Maidstone: G. Bunyard; J. Burgiss Brown, c1889 . First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 11.5" by 9". Not Stated. A scarce, first edition of this comprehensive historical study of All Saints' Church in Maidstone, with illustrations. First edition, in the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Dated using similar copies found on Jisc. Written by J. Cave-Browne, Vicar of Detling, near Maidstone, and the author of 'Lambeth Palace and its Associations'. This work explores the history of All Saints' church in Maidstone, a grand, Grade I listed building which still welcomes a congregation today. Cave-Browne presents the monuments, the parish, the architecture and the altar-tombs, as well as many other aspects. With ten illustrative plates to accompany the text. Collated, complete. With the bookplate of James Hobbs to the front paste down.A subscribers copy, with a list of subscribers to the rear. In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart, with slight bumping to the extremities and light rubbing to the joints. The odd mark to the cloth. Bookplate to the front paste down. Hinges slightly strained, but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with age toning to endpapers and the occasional spot, heavier to the plates. The odd tear to tissue guards. Very Good
