Octavo, three volumes, [ii] (half-title), xvi, 532; viii, 412, 63 (appendices); and viii, 320, 196 (appendices) pages. Relatively recent quarter calf and cloth; leather slightly rubbed, with the head of the spine of one volume a little bumped; small surface abrasions to the front pastedowns where a binder's label has been removed; small ink stamp partially erased from the verso of each title-page (forming two small holes in and near the subtitle text of the second one); minimal scattered pale foxing; overall an excellent uncut set. Sir John Sinclair (1754-1835), first president of the Board of Agriculture and voluminous writer. This work was 'a standard treatise, which was long one of the chief authorities on the subject' ('Dictionary of National Biography').
