Expected library inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Moderate tanning, with light foxing and marking to pages. Heavy tanning to text block edges. Some rub-marking and tanning to pastedowns and endpapers with inserts and remnants to front. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends. Binding remains firm. Boards are slightly bowed and tanned.

Fore edge is untrimmed, and the text is partly unopened.

VG copy, binding square with a hint of loosening, corners gently bumped, spine a little dulled, cracked at front hinge and starting to crack at rear, otherwise internally excellent but for some foxing, period Exeter College Oxford alumni bookplate to front pastedown along with attractive William McGee Bookseller Dublin shop label . Very Good. Hardcover. 1885.
