New Jersey: Isaac Collins. Full contemporary calf covers, damp stained, worn, scratched and edge worn. Corners bumped and leather worn off three, bottom of spine chipped, splitting of leather along hinges and wear to leather over three of the five stitching bands. Red spine label with gilt lettering cracked but legible.Title page, dedication to King George, and ffe missing. First page of preface almost entirely gone, 2-4 pages of preface plus first page of text missing approx. bottom third, 2-3 pages of text missing large corner (including text). Else pages browned, foxed, and worn, but still very legible. Binding tight. Edition verified by comparing with a complete copy. Written Originally in Low-Dutch by William Sewell, and Translated by Himself into English. Now Revised and Published With Four Amendments. Probably edited by Joseph Besse. Sewell helped Gerard Croese gather data for the first history of the Quakers and then wrote his own fuller, more accurate history. Smith II:561 . Fair-. Full Leather. 3rd Edition. 1774.

Vintage Quaker Books sells books by, for, and about Quakers (Religious Society of Friends) and a variety of other Christian books. The Corner Bookshop is a general used bookstore located in a cozy basement under/behind the main shopping street of Front Street in Bath, Maine.
