Philadelphia: D. Appleton & Co., 1846. Reprint . Hardcover. Good/Good/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 2 Volumes, Complete Set. Vol I, 536 pp. Vol II,509 pp. Debossed cloth boards show light rubbing - bright gilt design on front board of each volumes. Forward edge of front board, Vol. 2, has small dent. Gilt title and design on spine are a little rubbed. Both volumes have been repaired, Vol. 2 having the spine piece re-glued and showing the beginning of separation at lower portion of front hinge. Corners have some chipping/bumping, as do spine ends and hinges to some extent. Previous owner's name written in old-fashioned script on front free end paper of both volumes which also have slight soiling/spotting. Extensive foxing on most pages with a little foxing on page edges. Top page edges also have some soiling and darkening. Both volumes are intact and sturdy.
