Inscribed, and signed by Victor Harlow, the publisher, to a person whose father is mentioned, (and pictured), in the book as having been the editor of a Nashville Newspaper, and someone who had campaigned for the governorship, and who had been murdered over the prohibition controvrsy. Of note is winter scene, really a portable screen placed behind, with "snow" and sled as props, as well as a scarce portrait of identical twins ("Mother and Aunt Lily"). Most subjects identified, on rear or on front. Both Arless (1841-1903) and Summerhayes trained with William Notman. Arless was known for his photographs of Montreal scenes, sporting events, portraits.
