Sobre este artículo

Oxford: The Clarendon Press, 1934. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 10" by 7". None. A smart two volume set of this interesting work regarding the development of secular poetry. The first edition. Complete in two volumes. With the ink stamp for Sion College, Embankment, a college for Anglican clergy to the title page of both volumes. This work discusses secular poetry from across Europe during the Middle Ages. There are chapters on French poets, Italian poets, The Carolingian Revival and more.Written by F. J. E. Raby, a noted scholar who wrote a number of works regarding Latin poetry including 'The Oxford Book of Medieval Latin Verse'. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally very smart with just some bumping to the head and tail of the spine resulting in some slight loss to the cloth of volume two at the head of the spine. Slight fading to gilt crest on spine of both volumes. A few light marks to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just some marginal age toning. Ink stamp for Sion College to title page of both volumes. Very Good Indeed
