Soundly bound and neat in original burgundy colored cloth with titles in gilt to spine. Cloth at spine a little faded; superficial nicks to cloth at spine ends. Prior ownership at front of what appears to be A. B. & S. Carver / March 1867 - of the Carver family in Byberry. A few pages with mild pencil margin brackets or cursory underlining in pencil; the Carver family history with a few penciled additions and corrections. Small pencil head sized ink daub to front edge of the page block. VG or better. Uncommon in the 1st edition .
