Numerous b&w diagrams and maps of the battlefields. Light soiling to orig. cloth. Spines a little cocked. Foxed to interior. General Sir William Francis Patrick Napier KCB (1785-1860) was a British General and historian who served in the Napoleonic Wars, in particular the Peninsular War between Napoleon's empire and the allied powers of Spain, Britain and Portugal, for control of the Iberian Peninsula.
