An essay on the history of witchcraft in England from 1558 to 1718, with specific reference to: the beginnings of witchcraft, witchcraft under Elizabeth, exorcists, Matthew Hopkins, the literature of witchcraft, and the final decline. Written by Wallace Notestein, an American historian and Sterling Professor of English History at Yale University from 1928 to 1947. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
