In very good condition, the boards are a little rubbed only. An interesting association copy. The appeal of this copy is the superb inscription by Milne, to Marion Cran, the notable gardener, and famous for her many books on gardening. Her books include "The garden of ignorance" , "I Know a Garden", "The Garden of Experience" "The Gardens of Good Hope", "The Squabbling Garden", "The Joy of the Ground" " The Story of my Ruin" etc. The inscription is typically witty, Milne reverses their reputations and alludes to a number of these titles. 'For Marion Cran dramatist and author of children's stories, August 12th 1927'. Under the author's name on the title page he writes '- the well-know gardener, author of "Green Fly I have known", " The Garden of Slugs" etc. A. A. Milne'. The book has also been insribed by Marion Cran on the front free end paper - "Marion Cran, July 1927 after a letter from Christopher Robin's Mother!"
