John E. Potter and Company. Good+. c. 1850. Hardcover. ; Folio 12.5" x 9.5" x 2". Full brown embossed leather bound cover has heavy wear to spine and extremities but leather has been treated to stop deterioration. Boards and spine are straight. Binding is tight. End sheets and paste downs are soiled with former owner's name on front end sheet. Engraved frontispiece foxed in margins. A damp stain that penetrated from the top edge covering about a 3" wide x 3/4" area of top margin of about half the pages. First few pages are foxed, but foxing largely disappears throughout the remainder of the Bible. Bayley family genealogy in antiquated ink from 1839 to 1947 in the record pages of the Bible. Laid-in is a more detailed genealogy from 1769 to 1933 along with an antique bookmark. .
