Tarn is a poet (A Nowhere for Vallejo, Lyrics for the Bride of God, The House of Leaves), translator (Pablo Neruda), and editor (Levi-Strauss, Roland Barthes, Octavio Paz), educated at Cambridge and the University of Chicago. He taught for many years at Rutgers. His manuscripts and papers are in the special collections library at Stanford University. N. B.
