Sobre este artículo

The First UK printing published by Macmillan, London in 1979. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Mild pushing at the spine ends. The WRAPPER is price clipped and is in Very Good+ condition with only mild fading of the yellow colouring to the spine. Mild edge wear with a few nicks and two closed tears to the lower edges have been repaired with tape to the verso. The wrapper is 2-3mm short in height to the book and is protected in a loose Mylar archival cover. British photographer Don McCullin, one of the best photojournalists of his generation, went home in the hopes discovering who he was and where he came from. This volume of images of Britain and the English people was the result. Profusely illustrated with full page B/W Photographs throughout and a biographical essay by Don McCullin. The author's scarce second title. Sir Donald McCullin, CBE, Hon FRPS is a British photojournalist, particularly recognised for his war photography and images of urban strife. His career, which began in 1959, has specialised in examining the underside of society, and his photographs have depicted the unemployed, downtrodden and the impoverished. There was a major and highly acclaimed Tate Britain retrospective exhibition of his work in 2019. An important monograph covering the work of photo journalist and social documentarian Don McCullin. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
