Found in the unclipped dustwrapper. These first editions published by Batsford discuss English architecture and interior design. Includes one volume from the Junior Heritage series and two volumes from the New Heritage Series. With sixty two plates and a frontispiece to Homes, Towns and Countryside, collated and complete. With sixty four plates and a coloured frontispiece to The Regency Style 1800-1830, collated and complete. With ninety nine plates, including several colour plates, and a coloured frontispiece to The English Interior 1500 to 1900, collated and complete. With sixty four plates and a colour frontispiece to The English Farmhouse, collated and complete. With forty six plates and a frontispiece to English Medieval Castles. Whilst the first volume details the place of agriculture, location of industry, arts, administration and transport in the planning of English towns, Pilcher's volume on Regency architecture discusses the development of the style. Ralph Dutton explores the developments of English interior design from the 1500s to the nineteenth century, before Martin Briggs highlights pivotal moments in the history of the English farm house. The final volume in this collection traces the history of castle-building from its Norman motte-and-bailey origins up to the end of the sixteenth century. The wraps to Homes, Towns and Countryside, and the volume on English Medieval Castles are unclipped, whilst the remaining three volumes are clipped. In the publisher's original binding, found in the dust wrapper. The wraps to Homes, Towns and Countryside, and the volume on English Medieval Castles are unclipped, whilst the remaining three volumes are clipped. The cloth is fraying to the head of Homes, Towns and Countryside, and the The English Interior is lightly bumped to the head and tail of the spine. The English Farm House is also a little bumped to the tail of the spine, and the volume on the Regency Style is a little discoloured towards the edges. With a little loss to the wrap of Homes, Towns and Countryside at the head of the spine, with some closed tears at the top edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
