Small 4to; 80pp; color pictorial boards of a moose and 2 boys in the snow, black cloth shelf back; color pictorial endpapers; gift inscription dated "Xmas 1935;" bookseller's ticket on half-title; color fp; b&w moose head on title page; 13 full page color and 2 full page b&w illustrations, color and b&w illustrations throughout text; scuffing to edges, light rubbing to rear board; unclipped color pictorial dust jacket with a moose and two boys on the front, green rear panel, rear flap publisher's ad, front flap story summary, edge chipping and small closed tears; very good plus in very good dj. Two young boys in Minnesota return from hunting to find a moose in the stables. Phil Duffield Stong was an American author, perhaps best known for his novel, State Fair, later adapted into movies and a Broadway musical production. Kurt Wiese (1887-1974) was a German-born illustrator and artist, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1927. He was awarded both the Caldecott Medal and the John Newberry Medal during his career.
